Recruitment Agencies by contrast

Recruitment Agencies typically charge 10-15% of the total salary including super to hire staff. Therefore, to use a typical recruitment agency example, for average salaries between $60 and $80k, you are looking at a recruitment fee between $6 and $12k plus.


Further, recruitment agents are quite often inexperienced (junior) and very sales focused. The recruitment agency model requires that their agents focus on the largest placement fee. If their agents are not making significant placements every quarter, the agent you last dealt with may not be around in the next quarter. Hence, the continual change of recruitment agents, so building a relationship with one person is difficult to achieve.


Our difference by example

Alternatively, using our recruitment services means we deliver results at a fraction of the cost of a typical standalone recruitment agency. We offer a complete hiring solution not just recruitment. For example, we recently hired a sales representative for one of our clients on a total package of $110,000. We had over 100 applicants, conducted telephone interviews and short listed 6 applicants based on experience, industry and personal profile to suit the client. Of the short-listed applicants, we had two suitable to offer, conducted the negotiations, and placed one in the role. This process cost the client $10,000 and included terms and conditions of employment, offer letter, policies and procedures as well as detailed background checks.


Example 2

Another example was the hiring of a technical support person for a managed services provider. We charged the client $4,400 which included a letter of offer, terms and conditions of employment as well as detailed background checks. The client also used a recruitment agent who was charging a $100 deposit plus a $4,000 placement fee with no background checks or letter of offer or terms and conditions of employment.


We also keep in touch with both the client/manager and the applicant throughout the employment life cycle. On the first day we check the applicant arrived on time, at the end of the week we talk to both the applicant and the manager about how it is going. Subsequently, we keep in touch with both parties every month or so, to see how its going. If there are any issues we can act quickly to mitigate and diffuse or replace the applicant if necessary. We have not had to replace an applicant to-date for over 10 years.
